  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 can (400 grams) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (coriander leaves), for garnish

Instructions:
  1. In a bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground turmeric, garam masala, paprika, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the marinated chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with foil or a greased baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. In a large pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft and translucent.
  5. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to incorporate it into the sauce.
  8. Gently add the cooked chicken tikka pieces to the sauce, stirring well to coat them with the creamy tomato mixture. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add a splash of water or chicken broth.
  10. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan bread or steamed basmati rice.
