Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg taro leaves, cleaned and chopped
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger, julienned
  • 4-5 pieces red chili peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shrimp paste (bagoong alamang)
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:
  1. Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the onion, garlic, ginger, and chili peppers until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp paste and continue to sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped taro leaves and stir until the leaves are wilted.
  5. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until the taro leaves are tender.
  7. Add the coconut cream and continue to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
